Matt Dent set out, with his music, to embody the basic spirit he felt resided in Australia and it's people. In his own words:"I wanted to bring the pub rock and the travelling-folk-songwriter/bard together and create a new type of rootsy genre for the Aussie connoisseur. I loved the basic acoustic sounds as well as the tough, in-your-face pub rock of the 70s and 80s.
