During the Easter weekend, local artist Julie Gilmore will be showcasing her artwork in the Shaw Wines Shearing Shed Gallery. Open from 10am to 2pm Saturday 20 April and Monday 22 April and Sunday 21 April 10am to 4pm.
Julie was born the last year of “the baby boomers” in Rabaul Papua New Guinea (but made and raised in Australia). A love of the great outdoors took her from the tropics to the snowy highlands.
A permanent nerve injury/disability after an operation changed Julie’s path indefinitely and was her most unchartered adventure yet. This is where she is and where she is an artist. Fifty paintings tell the story…a collection of memories from gardens to landscapes, portraits, abstracts and macro.
On Sunday Julie will also be performing on the grass outside the Shearing Shed Gallery with Canberra favourite Tony Haley.
Food will be available from Olleyville Restaurant and the cellar door is open for wine tastings or come in and enjoy a glass of wine and a cheese plate.
