2018 Sparkling Cuvee – Cleo Munns, Who Weekly (January 2020)
Anything from this Canberra winery is a winner to me, and this is no exception. The 2018 Shaw Wines Sparkling Cuvee is made from 100 per cent semillon and is crafted to create a sparkling with an exciting fresh acidity backing the intensity of the fruit. This recent gold medal winner has a soft citrus/lemon palate, balanced with delicate acidity and natural sweetness.

2018 Sparkling Cuvée – John Lewis (December 2019)
100 per cent-based on owner Graeme Shaw’s four hectares of semillon in his vineyard near the NSW village of Murrumbateman, in the Canberra wine region. It has refreshing lemony flavour underpinned by cashew nuances. It’s at shawvineyards.com.au, bottle shops and the Murrumbateman, cellar door.

2018 Sparkling Cuvee – Max Crus (Jan 2020)
Shaw Vineyard Estate Canberra Sparkling Cuvee Vintage 2018, $26. So unexpectedly lemony you almost forget that it’s bubbles, but compelling enough to have another glass to remind you. 9.1/10.

2018 Sparkling Cuvee – Max Crus, The Daily Examiner (August 2019)
This is what you call fresh bubbles, and it cries out for fresh oysters or just a fresh glass if you can’t find oysters.
9.2/10
