Tasting Notes

Winemaking and Viticulture

Much of the unique character of this wine is developed in the vineyard, low yielding spur-pruned vines with only the best of our Riesling grapes selected and picked in the cool of the night to ensure fruit is delivered at temperatures less than 20 degrees.

The fruit is then lightly pressed and drained and only the free run juice is used to produce this elegant wine. All the fruit is sourced solely from Shaw Wines Murrumbateman vineyard, an area renowned for production of premium cool climate wines Stelvin closures are used for freshness and to ensure long term quality.

Lifted jasmine, cala lilies with hints of lime pith and small tangy orchard apples. On the palate the floral notes continue with subtle sweetness carrying the flavour of finger lime and lime curd, succulent acidity has you draining the glass in no time. Bravo Shaw wines, what a treat. Drink with only your best mates or, better yet, man’s best friend; more wine for you and better company.

More subtle on approach with notes of wet stones, lime and fresh herbs. This wine comes to life on the palate. A powerful tow of limy citrus flavours glides across the palate. It’s fine yet flavoursome and the palate is amplified by a little residual sugar that is barely perceptible on the finish. This is stylish off-dry riesling with pedigree – it’s studding. Drink to 2031. 95/100 points.
