This is a 60-40 blend of shiraz and malbec and has bright copper pink hues, You're greeted with strawberry, red cherry and watermelon flavours, all in easy-drinking harmony. Then comes a touch of balancing tartness - cranberry perhaps, and lemon zest. It finishes dry and clean. A rock solid rose, just give it a good chill.

Estate grown rosé from Canberra’s Shaw Wines. Previously made from 100% Shiraz, this year sees the split of 60% Shiraz and 40% Malbec grapes. Retaining their winemaking of 6 hours skin contact for a light blush: dusky pink. Summer berry cups with strawberry, raspberry, cranberry and watermelon fruit, white chocolate, peach fuzz, bramble leaf, pink peppercorns and little tobacco influence from the Malbec. Dry and saline, steely edged. Light red fruits with an easy pass of tannin driving some juicy citrus-like acidity Uncomplicated but offering good sunshine drinking.

Wine of the Week - The cool Canberra region is a source of a growing number of outstanding wines and this dry rosé from estate vineyards in Murrumbateman has plenty of appeal with its bright, lively palate and very reasonable price tag. Utilising the usual shiraz (60%), blended with 40% malbec, this is a very vibrant, almost tart, wine that demands to be enjoyed with food. Think cranberry and wild strawberry fruit notes and a very crisp and dry palate. This would be perfect pair with anything with a Middle Eastern flavour; from a lamb kebab to a mezze plate. Or, perhaps, a charcuterie board. Very refreshing this one and it weighs in a just 11.5% alcohol.

Pale crimson in colour and while generally 'pale and dry' in style there's a core of attractive fruit flavour here. This is a most enjoyable rosé. Cranberry, raspberry, orange oil and spice characters make for delicious drinking. Rated 92 points.

Good times, party on. It's a pleasing, easy drinking rosé with some depth and interest, set to red fruitness but also with savouriness gently in tow. Raspberry, maraschino cherry whiffs, some cinnamon and game meat. The palate is juicy, then dry, loaded with cherry and cranberry and clove spice. A lick of minty herbs. Just so, simple done well.

The nose features scents of violets, the front palate chirpy raspberry flavour, the middle palate blueberry, pomegranate, mineral and mint characters and the finish steely acid. Food match gar-fish fillets in prawn bisque sauce. Rated 4.5 stars.
